I was metal detecting at a old homesite (1830-1950) and a stage coach road (with: 4x4x4 and Diggergal) we were finding horseshoes, old tools, lead and pewter drippings, old bottles, and personal items from the people that lived at the homestead. I came across a signal that was reading like a zinc penny and I dug down about 2 inches and a bunch of iron pieces came out but the original signal was still there so I dug down another three inches and I saw a coin, at first it was covered in dirt and it looked like an Indian head penny but I started cleaning it a little and I saw a glint of silver so I thought it might be a mercury dime until we saw the back had an eagle and the front had some weird design on it, I thought it was just a peso and then I took a break to have some water and did some research and I found out that it is a Mexico 1 Reale (I cannot tell the whole date but it looks like 1830) that were made from 1825-1869, it was not only my first 90% silver coin but it was also my first coin from the 1800s. I am in complete shock that I found a Reale and that my first 1800s coin is a Mexico 1 Reale!!
