I found a 1942 George quarter on Tuesday evening which I thought was awesome, then yesterday I had about an hour to kill in a field that I've been wanting to try out and up comes this beauty. My first seated liberty and oldest dug coin so far.

Congrats!
Savor them firsts. That is a great one.

HEY MAN --Supposed to sound like George Thurogood ..LOL

Are you in the North Somewhere?

Here in the Broke "Reconstruction" South Late 1800's silver is Rare .

Only dug 1 Seated Coin (Dime), in 16 years but that's mostly Relic Hunting , But Still...

A very nice find. The Quarter is to.

Congrats on the old silver... I have yet to find a seated coin, so that one looks just KILLER to me!

Always nice to see a seated liberty being saved. Congrats on the nice silver.

Nice seated congrats...:icon_thumright:

Thanks guys, I was stoked when I realized what I had found.
No I'm not in the north, I mostly hunt the southern Ozark mountains where the population was so sparse they said a Civil War soldier was more likely to die of starvation that an enemy bullet. I'm just lucky I guess, considering I don't have a high dollar setup, and I'm still in my rookie year of digging.

I love to see those seated silvers, and hope to one day actually see one in my plug! Congrats!

Beautiful and on my bucket list to find.

Nice one. That was the last year that they produced seated quarters in any large quantities till 1891

Congrats on a really beautiful old coin.

Sweet seated!! Congrats on your first and she's a beauty.

Congrats on your first seated- hope you find many more!!

That's a special coin and should be treated as such.
Put it in a coin folder, and put the date and location where it was found.
Congrats

You can check that one off your list. I bet you're still smiling. Congrats on those 2 silver Q's especially the seated. :occasion14: It still eludes my coil.

love seated - congrats!
