I found a 1942 George quarter on Tuesday evening which I thought was awesome, then yesterday I had about an hour to kill in a field that I've been wanting to try out and up comes this beauty. My first seated liberty and oldest dug coin so far.
Nice 1878 Seated Liberty and congrats on your find - thanks for sharing your pictures and story with all of us & I wish you many more great finds while out dirt fishing.
Thanks guys, I was stoked when I realized what I had found.
No I'm not in the north, I mostly hunt the southern Ozark mountains where the population was so sparse they said a Civil War soldier was more likely to die of starvation that an enemy bullet. I'm just lucky I guess, considering I don't have a high dollar setup, and I'm still in my rookie year of digging.
