Yesterday at a empty lot a half block away I pulled 41 coins out from an area about 30X30. Most were pennies pulled from the old driveway. Nothing older than the 70's.... I even got to dig a 10 coin spill on the edge of the driveway.

So I went back there this morning.....after two hours, one clad Dime. No complaints, Yesterday was freaking awesome and I was still feeling good. So tonight while waiting for pizza I went out for a smoke, grabbed my tools and started working the sidewalk edges real thorough. I've detected in my(Apt) front yard several times a week, if not everyday, since Aug and I'm still pulling coins. Neighbors yard...same thing. I dang sure didn't think I'd pull something special especially with my 5 year old son as my 'helper' Every 30 secs we HAVE to switch tools. (sigh)

I hit a good high tone consistent every sweep about a foot out from edge. I don't remember ever hearing a high tone blip here before. So I pinpoint.......hit tone from the surface. And my son grabs the digger and was aiming for the center as I shouted out "NO!!" Stopped him just in time and explained to him that was the easiest way to damage a coin cuz it's right under the surface if a Pinpointer sees it. Told him back up a bit, go deep, and scoop it right out. As I seen the coin revealed I had to shout at him again "Hold on bud....stop!! It's right there." Pull it out and right away I knew it was a quarter and old. I figure the pinpointer picked up the nail on the left not the silver cuz silver was at least 6 inches down. Pop tab was on the right and about the same level, large nail was deeper. I'm amazed that we even seen this coin let alone got it out through all that iron. Coin has no visible date but it is a type 2.
I love living here.
