Got to go for a couple hours late today with Brother John, My nephew Caleb and his friend. We detected an old farm site in The Baird's Mill area here in TN, hoping to find some CW relics.

Well, I didn't find alot in the short time we had, but I did manage to pluck a couple keepers. A nice 1935 Walking Liberty Half dollar. This is my first silver half. It gave a nice strong 50 cent reading at about 6 inches. Most times these turn out to be something other than a half dollar, so I was Very Pleased! Found a nice Flower button with a great green patina to it. I know these were worn by some soldiers during the CW and so who knows maybe we'll find some solid CW signs next trip.

Hi Kirk , nice walker , hows the music doin?

Seeing that big silver in the dirt just about takes your breath away. :icon_cyclops_ani:

Congrats on your first half dollar. The flower button does look like it is civil war period. Way to go.

That's NICE.

I'll bet you were doing the dance when you saw the walker......

Congrats on that first silver half! Every time I find one, I think, "How could they lose something this big?" It's not a complaint, mind you.

Thank you everyone for your kind support and encouragement.

Any idea where you think Morgan's camp was at in that area?

Thanks Dman. The Bairds Mill area as you I'm sure you know was home to one of Morgans camps. I'd love to find it. As far as I know that camp has never been found.

Yep, I've always thought, Silver dollars and half dollars were rarely lost due to their size. I can't imagine how surprised you'd be to dig a Dollar.

Nice finds! It's always fun to see the silver in the dirt, especially that big. Great looking Walker!
