Ok, this is gonna be a long one. So, at Christmas 2015, I got my first metal detector, the Pioneer EX (apparently it has different names also). Later in the year, I got a Bounty Hunter Pinpointer. Now, the Garrett Pro-Pointer AT is shipping to my location, and I am only about 100 bucks away from a Garrett AT Pro. Anyhow, I had a good year. I didn't find anything too important, or even a silver coin. But I liked it. I just hope 2017 is the year I get a silver. Ok, for coins, I keep every coin, and put them in packets. Some coins don't have packets in the pics because it is just a few coins. For most coins, I found clad, so I'll show you those first.
20170107_121121.jpg
Zincolns (so annoying, but at least they're coins). By FAR my most common coin.
20170107_121210.jpg
Copper pennies (much better).
20170107_121322.jpg
My nickels, modern and older.
20170107_121433.jpg 20170107_121446.jpg
My favourite nickel, one of the 2005 commemoratives.
20170107_121540.jpg
The dimes (I found enough).
20170107_121705.jpg
Quarters (three separate types, no 2009s)

Sadly, no halves or dollars last year. Hopefully this year!

20170107_121810.jpg 20170107_121841.jpg
My only foreign. A pretty darn good first foreign!

20170107_122120.jpg
All my tokens. Most are from this place called Fun Works in my area (Say if you are from around the Stockton/Sacramento area). I also got a Chuck E. Cheese's and a John's Incredible Pizza.

20170107_123141.jpg
My three oldest coins. A 1948D, 1953(D?), and a 1957D which was likely a recent drop (my favourite) wheats.

Time for my other finds (excluding some things which I might show later like a railroad spike and empty can of Faberge Brut 33 shaving cream).

20170107_123411.jpg
All my keys (my favourite is the gas cap key).

Bullet casing and bullet time (most found at a Stockton Deep Water Channel beach/island, and all modern).
20170107_124125.jpg
.22 casings. Most are Remington, but there is an unknown, what I think is a Winchester, and a generic LR casing.

20170107_124217.jpg
A couple .40 casings: a Winchester Smith & Wesson and a Remington S & W.

20170107_124311.jpg
My favourite two casings: a .45 Winchester Auto and a .44 Winchester Reminton Magnum.

20170107_124351.jpg
My two bullets, a .45 bullet (I think going to the casing I have, because it was in the same general area) and an unknown. What is the left one's size? Please let me know.

So, I had a good year. I am ready to find some silver and get some firsts! I think 2017 will be great. HH and God bless.

Very nice bunch of finds for your first year, congrats. If you are near Sacramento, check out the videos from the two guys from "CA Relic Adventures" on Youtube. They find some incredible stuff.

Wow young man. It took me my first silver coin, (1919 Merc Dime) to get hooked and a thousand dollars in finds, to upgrade. You're hooked before you ever got to silver, gold or an awesome relic. Can't wait to see you post those finds right here on Treasure Net so we can all enjoy them with you. Good Luck.

Happy Hunting

Stockton is a great place to hunt. Don't know what area you are in. The North Side is newest, but has lots of parks good for finding jewelry. If I were in Stockton, Vacant lots in older neighborhoods (South, East and West) would be my first pick for finding old coins. Some of my best finds came from vacant lots in the Central Valley. Good Luck.

Happy Hunting

Thank you mariposagold. It makes me feel good. I'll try to look up some vacant lots on maps. Right now my main point is American Legion Park, near Yosemite Lake. Good place. I found two of the wheats and the 2005 Jefferson there.

Congrats on a good first year, good luck in the future

Thanks Art, I think I will have a good year, mainly because I am going to go to a family farm in Missouri. Could have some Indian Heads or old seated coins! A seated would be a great first silver!
