Found at one of last hunts past fall..no idea what is is,about same size as large cent...nothing visible on back,but feel could be oldest coin ive found yet..believe predates 1800??

Im in Massachusetts USA...Tried half dozen pics..camera not best for close ups..and back has nothing on it..other than green patina.

will try and get a few pics tomorrow under natural lite as camera does better in that lite..but back has no distinguishable features that i can see...and as coin is green i can tell the patina on it is fairly thick but do believe removing it would remove any detail left that is visible as is.

No do not remove the Patina, that would ruin it.

....Does have the skinny neck..but not sure enough detail to ever know..my oldest coin is 1802 i believe and was hoping for older...you out near coast?

I agree with Bramblefind's first thought, KGI Halfpenny, if around 26mm than 1717-1718, if around 28mm 1719-1724.

Believe you are correct to agree with him..it measures very,very close to 26mm...so looked on ebay and saw this worn one ...gotta be it...thanks for help.. 1720 King George I Copper Halfpenny Second Issue Fine Condition | eBay looking at bottom of head on left there is that ridge that is still there on mine even though very worn..and it looks like a well defined high spot on this coin.

If it is approx 26mm and not approx 28mm I would think it would be one of the dump issues, 1717/18. Anyway, here is a photo of a 1717 on the left which is 26mm and a 1723 on the right which is 28mm...Up to you to decide.

I've found a lot of George 1st and 2nd coins in similae condition in England and this looks very like a halfpenny. They don't survive well in soil, especially wet pasture land.
