They aren't much, but I'll share anyway.
Went to a field not far from home to practice my MDing.
I found these few pennies, a pull tab, a shaft thingy and a dime.
I can't read the dates on anything except one penny.
One of the pennies looks like it got chewed on the edge ! :o

You are out there swinging, That's what the hobby is all about.
Way to go.

Hey, I only found three cents, so you beat me.

Happy Easter

Ken

Thanks ya'll. I appreciate you looking and replying.
Wish I had more to show for my hour out MDing, but I have to get a little time in when I can.
Not sure how to clean the coins up enough to read the dates.
Anyone know the best way? I don't think they are too old, but they sure look bad. :(

Best way to clean clad is a tumbler, Deb. You keep digging and you'll end up the year with so many coins you'll have to turn them in and get $. Don't mix the pennies with the silver colored coins when tumbling, though.
Good luck

Try a little baking soda and water with a tooth brush.....on the pennies (not your teeth)

We got 8 inches of snow Friday so at least be glad you're out and swinging.

HH

Glad you got to get out for a short hunt..the weather is getting better down south....ohhh..looks like the penny worms are out too..Will be looking for more of your finds.

hey nice finds  your becoming a pro quickly :)

I like that shaft thingy :tongue3:

Congrats of a fun day it looks like

Nice finds! That shaft thing looks really similar to a connector used on model train tracks, particularly O and S gauge tracks. The flat end would have been pressed into one track and the rounded end inserted into the next piece of track. Not positive, but it looks really similar!

nice that you got out

Good you got out and made some finds! The chewed looking penny is a modern Zinc penny, that is probably the zinc deteriorating. HH, Mike

You got more CENTS than me.

Good job I like to see your finds no matter what they are. Big or Small. You did well and had fun doing it. WTG.

Welcome to the hobby and to the forum. You did pretty good for just practicing. I spent all day out Sunday and oly came up with one three ring bullet and small pistol CW bullet. But, I did enjoy the day and manage to find something. Anytime you go out is a good thing. Enjoy the hobby and please share.

That pin reminds me of one that holds the trigger group in a pump or semi-auto shotgun.

That's they way u learn, is by getting out there and getting good practice on pinpointing what you have found and learning how to know what you are scanning before you even dig it! So keep up the good work and keep on posting those chats we all enjoy seeing them posts. :icon_pirat:
