My oldest coins yet.....

Was able to get out this weekend and managed to dig my 2 oldest coins yet since I started metal detecting last November, wow it is exciting digging up old coins, but I have also dug alot of junk too.. lol. Does anyone know what year that the part of the toy gun could be from? Thanks for looking.

Great day!...glad to see you digging and posting the junk too....many guys new to the hobby need to see the dedication it takes to find the goods. It's not that easy.
1) find a place and secure permission.
2)round up the required tools/clothing
3)park, get out and figure out where to start
4)swing coil, listen, decide to retrieve, pinpoint
5)down to knees, cut plug, get out ground-cloth if needed
6)retrieve item, (noting depth of find)
6.5)ID item(to determine value of site)
7)recheck hole/plug
8)replace plug/dirt..pretty up grass
9)back to feet, remembering which direction you were headed on your pattern
10)repeat steps 4 thru 9 endlessly with pleasure

The toy pistol part looks something like an old 45 grip for a cap gun...maybe 50s-60s-ish?
Silver is nice, and finding something older than a Roosevelt is much nicer!

Yeah that dime was beat to hell when i first got it out of the hole it was smooth didnt know it was a barber till i got home and cleaned it up, I like to show the trash i dig, it is funny all that trash gave real good signals, signals that coins also make that is why i like to dig everything.
