So today I found a new house to hunt about 30min away. It also happened to be within a few min of a friend of mine who happened to say she would be out in her pool all day, so naturally I thought it would be a great to go detect and then go hang out in the pool for a while with her. I decided to hit a house that I had hunted a month ago or so with my hunting partner Lee. We hit the yard pretty hard then and pulled out close to 10 wheats a piece I think. I also got a couple silver mercs and an indian head penny. The grass was about 7" high when we hit it, so we both figured it still had some goodies left in it. My first few targets were all trash. Then I went back to the sidewalk area to hunt where I found a mercury last time. Get a good signal... dig down about 6".... it's green.... it's a memorial... psh... Then a few feet from there I pulled out a wheatie.

Then I'm hunting around the porch and get a broken up nickel signal. About 5" down I pulled out a 1941 jefferson nickel. Then I look back in the hole and there is a nice 1943 mercury dime just hanging out on its edge. I rescan the hole and find another jefferson nickel, this one being 1957.

It was sooooooooo hot that I was wanting to get out of there because I assumed we had gotten it all.... BUT I forced myself to go hunt by the big old tree. On the way there I pulled out that little toy gun. On the sides it reads POLICE 45.. any id help would be awesome guys! :)

Then I got that cool buckle as I creeped closer to the tree.... and then I got a hit that SCREAMED silver at me... and it was only showing about 3" deep. I was honestly expecting a silver rosie... but out pops an 1854 Seated Liberty Quarter! WOW! My first one ever! I skipped over Standing Liberty and Barbers and went straight to the Seated! :):):)

I then got two more wheats on the day. The dates are 1945, 1936, and one that is too cruddy to read the date. The house that I was originally driving to had 37 cents in clad in the yard. Hope everyone is bearing the heat well! :)

Anyone have an idea on the grade of this coin? I don't know how to grade a seated quarter. On the obverse of the coin on the left side are what looks like scratches, but they are cat hairs that stuck to it when I was done rinsing it off. :)

I didn't think there were any here either, haha. Hopefully it's not the last :)

Let me know when you get some free time so we can get together for a hunt.
