From box 36 on anything not (Brinks) will be from a new bank that does not use Brinks.

The (Brinks) boxes will still be from the same bank.

Not a bad start at the new bank... 2 boxes gave me 3-40%ers. The 2 in Box 37 were both in the same roll.

nice mercury thats a sweet lady to find....she must have felt so "rejected" until you rescued her ;D

Hope the new bank works out!

How is the new job?

Thanks Big. I was psyched when I pulled her out.

It seems like I will really like it. The only down fall is that it cuts into my CRHing big time. I can no longer do a box a day because my dump bank is closed before I could get to them.

The good thing is that the new pick up bank is 2 buildings from my new job so I can hit them right after work.

My other bank is down the street from my house and my dump bank is down the street from that.

So now do 2 boxes of halves on Thursday and 2 on Friday, dump on Saturday morning, then go back to my pick up and get dimes and go back to my bank and dump again. Luckily they don't mind me coming in 2 times a day lol.

I liked picking up a box of halves and a box of dimes a day and opening them on the road then dumping them the next morning.

Oh well... With the new job after a couple of paychecks I'll be able to actually BUY silver to offset the finds. :icon_thumright:

I made a stop today and they had $250 in halves. I was thinking dump, but when they came out I had some hope.

I started with the white rolls and EVERY roll had silver in it.

The best roll had 11 keepers.

10rollscore.webp

A total of 43 40%ers and and 8 90s. :headbang:

The brown rolls had nothing, but that's quite all right with me :laughing7:

It was a GOOD DAY!

Got a neat dime with a missing section of lamination. The back is fine. It's just the front.

Any one have an idea what this would be worth?

Looks like the genuine article to me. How's the condition - I read the date as 197? which means it's probably got a fair amount of wear. If I had to guess, I'd say in the neighborhood of 10-20 bucks.

Here is a better scan. It's 1979

I was at the supermarket today and asked for halves at the bank inside. The teller told me that a lady JUST cashed in $8 in halves not 20 minutes ago. Then she says "One of these is silver. It's a 1964".

I said "oh good. I like the silver coins" and left it at that. While thinking.... only 1? hmmm maybe she doesn't know about the 40%ers.

Nope... she didn't...

She puts them up on the counter and I see a lot more than 1 silver, but pull out the only shiny 1964 and say "that's a neat coin" and put them in my pocket and ask if the lady gave any more coins. She gave me the roll of quarters that she dropped off (no silver).

The $80 produce 2 90%ers and 4 40%ers. One of them is a 1970. This is my first 1970 so I'm pretty happy.

awesome score on the 1970! I got one of those my first week or 2 roll hunting and haven't seen one since, doubt I will for ages more either.

Yours is in great condition to. Mine has a fair amount of sulfur toning + it has nail polish marks on both sides, go figure lol !!

HH,
Bigheed

Thanks :icon_thumright: I'm pretty happy that I got it. Just because it's the first and only one I've found.

That being said, I most likely won't keep it as I'm more of a treasure hunter than a collector. If the right price is offered I'll sell it.

Found this today :icon_thumright:

The pictures don't do it justice. The VDB is clear looking at the coin. Unfortunately you can't see it well in the picture.

Found this 1916 canadian 5 cent coin on the floor next to a coin star at the grocery store.

The penny is for size reference

Saw this when it got bumped, I read from the beginning. Isn't the '67 10% Ag? (1.6gm ASW = $2+ melt).

awesome job, love this thread, and the pictures, keep up the searching!!

Thanks for posting this running report! Really helps me feel like I am doing about average with boxes (1 or 2 found every 3-4 boxes)
