That's a great set :o mine isn't even half done yet. Is that trade dollar real it's a great looking coin. Did you use any theme to do yours? I'm trying to get mine all first year Philly mints, except for the modern clad stuff i'm using my birth year '83

Thanks, Gypsey, Showtime and HP. Showtime, The trade dollar isn't in that good a shape. I keep meaning to replace it. I only paid $28.00 for it. It has been heavily cleaned and it's got a burn mark right in the middle of it. Must have been to the Orient. They usually marked the coins over there to verify the weight and fineness. I really didn't use any theme when I put the set together. I just tried to get to best coin I could afford. As I found better ones with my metal detector, I replaced the ones I bought. I think the first year of issue would be tough for the Standing Liberty Quarter. You ever priced a 1916 Stander? Well, good luck anyway with your set.

Great display Bob, I was wondering why the Half Cents start with the Draped Bust and not the Liberty Caps??

I did a quickie in my head and think I have found about 36 total coins that would fill slots in that type collection.

That is a nice collection book of history of coins....

LOL, no silver dollars for me nor have I ever found a Franklin Half - go figure....

Yea I realize that and for coins where the first year is a key date 1916 SLQ and 1921 Peace are both good examples I'm probably going to go with second year :-[ and hope one day to be able to change up if the opportunity presents itself.

Don,
Thanks for the nice comments. I don't know why Dansco didn't include a slot for a Liberty Cap half cent. But I'm glad they didn't. I guess they figured that the price of a Liberty Cap is just out of sight for most people. The cheapest one is about $175.00 in AG-3. I've never found one anyway. If I did, I couldn't tell what it was. You know what the ground here in PA does to old copper coins. Watch out for that Jersey Devil down there in the Pineys.

Really neat collection,Id say the trade dollar is my favorite, very difficult coin in any condition and one that is extremely popular with the counterfeiters around the pacific rim,I just love the large cents too, really want to find one but Im thinking of breaking down and buying some of them because I like them so much. The half-dime must be the least found coin around here really admire yours thanks for the display,oh and when you are posting pics you can click on more attachments right next to the upload box and it will let you post up to 3?I think)pictures per post.

Hey shootist. Thanks for telling me how to post multiple pictures. That's the simplest explanation I've heard. All the others were just too complicated for me and I didn't want to expose my semi-literate computer knowledge. I just tried it on the just images forum and it really worked. Wow. Now if I can only get up enough guts to post the multiple images I'd really like to post. It would blow peoples' minds. Thanks again.
