Myrtle beach

Any pointers on detecting beach areas with at pro. I plan to get away from crowded areas, maybe Murrels Inlet? Tried this before and all I found was junk. So setting ideas? Areas?

Go where the crowds are; most finds are recent drops.

Myrtle is a tough area to hunt ime. Lots of folks sweeping the beach with detectors, even in the winter when the snowbirds show up.

stay out of the water with the AT PRO ,they suck in salt water ,but work great in fresh water.

I should have said, but you probably already know, that the ATP probably wont be very good in the salt. So dry is best and judge for yourself how the wet sand is. And be sure to post back here how it goes!

Hit the high tide line and stay away from the wet sand with that atp. Ground balance often. Here is my findings from a Myrtle trip in May. About half were around the tide and umbrella lines. The gold and ice were in wet sand at dead low tide.
