This item is about 1 and 3/4 inches across, there is no visible text or maker marks on it. The item has a hefty weighty feel for its size. Any ideas what this item is?

I have a similar object, and I think it is the stopper for a cast iron bank. The protruding lip fit into the bank hole, and when turned caused it to lock in place. Breezie

Looks almost like a flapper from a swing type check valve.
