I went detecting on a beach area on Lake Erie in NE Ohio and kept digging these metallic pieces.
Everyone hit in the dime zone so I had to dig them.
These are not lead.
They were dug mostly in the cut area of the beach where the rocks were exposed. These vary in depth. I figured since I found Captain Hook, I was finding his lost treasure.
What is this metal. It was found in random areas along this stretch of beach.

Yep,, the same finds I got while hunting Lake Erie Beaches in NYS.
I scooped up the remains of cans in chest deep water.
Not all were aluminum.
Congratulations on getting out.
