I don't usually post my detector finds because they're mostly clad and junk but this I thought was a little bit interesting. It's definitely an old oven gas valve, but it has a swastika on it. It looks to be from the same time period that the Nazis would have existed. Could this be a Nazi artifact? Or maybe it was made in Nazi Germany and exported to the US before the war? Or could this be something entirely different? Whatever the case it freaks me out - when I dug this the first thing I saw was "oven" and then as I rubbed away the dirt I saw the swastika appear. All that I could picture for the next few hours was piles of emaciated bodies waiting to be cremated - not something I like to think about.

HaHa that's Funny !

the swastika design was used for many purposes, But
I honestly don't think the Nazis were into making oven Valves

the Crane Steel company in the US would mark it's valves with swastikas until the Nazis rose to power in Germany.

Swastika as a symbol is more than 6000 years old. It's a symbol of life and good fortune.

Swastika signs were a sign of good luck before the war and Nazis, they were on advertisements too.

yes, as jeff stated, your valve was made by Crane. Probably dates to the 1920's. I once dug a faucet that was marked the same way. It puzzled me for some time until I read about the Crane company marking their valves as a symbol of good luck

Hitler took the swastika symbol and turned it on its corner for the nazi symbol.when a swastika is on one of its sides then it is a magic, occult, goodluck symbol, which is why Hitler used it.

A buddy of mine dug a watch fob that has a swastika on it and is marked with Coca-Cola's logo. So even coke was sporting swastikas before WWII.
