That is a cool find, did it overload your coil? How deep was it and what kind of area did you find it in?
Thanks for posting,
Bunker

I was hunting a scrubby area where the yard of an old house meets the woods. It was a bit deeper than my digger.
I was using the neat old Golden Sabre that I recently bought from "Dan-Pa." Gave me a very good signal! Found an old pocket knife and a flat button in the same area.

That's a cool piece Rob. It looks to be stamped copper??? I have seen some pieces like that used as "grille cover" like applications on some locations related to fireplaces in old homes. WTG Bud and hope you have a great VA digging year, Quindy.

Thanks Quindy. I think the style is referred to as Plaquette Relief (thanks to Breezie for the ID) and is bronze over lead.

This was a popular thing during the 1960's in suburban houses, although it may be much older.

Could be .. The style goes back to the 16th century. While I doubt this one does, I would bet that it is older than 1960's.

I believe a picture frame went around it and it hung on wall. Nice find.

Thanks Dman .. with the six nail holes around the perimeter, I am not sure it was in a frame originally, but that will be its new destination.

Great find. Breezie has ID'd a few of my finds as well. I don't know how she does it but she is very good at it.
