Watching some of the goldhog vids, he sometimes uses the gold cube to check the loss from his sluices..

I'm not familiar with the mini sluice, since the only water I have access to is coming out of the faucet.

But I have to say Gold Cube. I will say that the tall stack gold cube is a waste, I've only ever found a tiny bit in the second tray, and
NOTHING in the 3rd tray, I don't even bother checking anymore.

Somewhere around here is a link to a thread on a different site, some guy took a single tray of the goldcube and chopped it in 3rds and
made a mini gold cube 4" wide.. I'm going to do that one of these days to clean up smaller amounts and to take into the field for
testing...

Here is a horrible pic.. There are hundreds of -250 (<.0025") pieces of gold in that pic. You can't see any of it. That's a match head for
scale.. That's the kind of stuff the gold cube will catch.

Even with a gold cube or some sort of sluice you will still need somthing for the final seperation so dont get rid of your miller table or blue bowl just yet.

The problem is your location, if you have and use a Miller table and a blue bowl already, you will still be using them to separate the super fines from the Gold Cube. Get yourself a Gold Cube Trommel if you're looking for a better first stage and a 3 tier will be enough. What are you using as a first stage now? If it's a highbanker then it may just need some extra sluicebox added to it.

If I was spending a couple hundred bucks I'd check out Vern's product. He's located in Grants Pass Oregon. I saw him at the Roseburg gold show a couple of years ago and was highly impressed with (it seems to me that the unit he had there was a little bigger than the one in the video) how fast it worked and as long as the classification was done right left Clean gold at the top third and NOTHING but black sand going out the end. Vern Passed last year, I think his miller table used a self-healing cutting board like from office max

I stated using the goldhog washer mat last year its like a miller table with riffles
I screen several 5 gallon buckets of dredge con's to 18 mesh, I get 85 to 90% of the gold
worked down to less than a cup in the first pass, second pass gets the rest.
then I pan with my falcon cleanup pan, instead of hours and hours of screening like all day with my blue bowl.
get one of each but I'd say the gold hog multi-sluice would be the most versatile.

of course I'm too cheep to put down what they want for a gold cube...

Can you give us more info?

Like what are you doing?
Are you running "black sands" that have never been run before?
Are these concentrates from a piece of equipment? (That's what I'm assuming)
What size gold are you finding?
What VOLUME are you talking about?
Just a few more details.

I owned a 4 stack deluxe Gold Cube and loved it!!! A Miller table , a Blue Bowl and other stuff and they all have their strong points and I like them also. I don't have or seen the Gold Hog mini clean up sluice BUT I do have Gold Hog mats in two of my dredges and If the G.H. mats are indicative of what the G.H. mini can do (and I think they will) the mini ought to be a good piece of equipment as well! BUT there again, the success of any equipment is up to the person operating it and how well he takes to learning the in's and out's of what that piece of equipment will do! And eventually it all boils down to panning what's left. OR you could buy some matting from of these dealers (Gold Hog ,Keene ETC.) and build your own versatile cleanup device.

RIP Vern... Probably why I couldn't use some old links to his site. winners58, ya I was wondering what that mat was (Vern keep the secret under his hat) and it looked real similar to the mat on my drafting table, kinda a plyable rubber, fairly smooth kind of stuff.
