I have a new Deus with case. its narrow and I don't see why they wont check it as carry on, its inches out if anything but is a plus due to how narrow its a great case!

I think it is a good investment. You can pack your machine in there and throw in all the extra stuff in there also like the batteries and chargers. If you ever sell it, you can about make your money back. I would pay $100 for a good used box.

On my travels I put the coil (with strip over the LED) and the stem into the checked luggage, the remote control and the headphones into the carried bag.
Did not face any problems between Germany and UK, Germany and CZ, Germany and France.
