Need Help Identifying an old Button

Hello,

I am trying to help out a friend who found this button this morning. He was metal detecting on a site where he found an IHP as well as several three ringers and several musket balls. He believes that the front of the button is gold plated and the back is gold gilt. Any expert opinion would be appreciated. This was found in NW Arkansas.
