This coin is a little smaller than a U.S. dime, and looks like a date of 1716. Has what looks like a crown on one side and a shield on the other. Would like to know what country of origin and any other info you can provide. Thanks!
Yes, it's an old thread.
The coin is actually a 1746 1/2R coin. The (very weak) '4' appears as a '1' but you can see the 'crossbar'. That design did not begin with Felipe V 1/2Rs until 1733. The coin is .916 pure silver.
