Thanks, it appears to be a 1716 Phillip V 1/2 reale.
 

looks like a Mexico City mint mark too.
 

Yes, it's an old thread.
The coin is actually a 1746 1/2R coin. The (very weak) '4' appears as a '1' but you can see the 'crossbar'. That design did not begin with Felipe V 1/2Rs until 1733. The coin is .916 pure silver.
