Need help identifying.

I found the stone off the east coast of Long Island New York. It looks like volcanic rock to me. The inside Amber is slightly smooth almost feels waxy. Any help would be appreciated thank you. IMG_20180427_114050.jpg

does it smell at all? i was thinking petrified wood or ambergris if found on the beach

It dose look like scoria ,but I can't understand the waxy amber center core
