🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Need help to ID a Medallion (?) Found around old Spring House.

Hello to all, sorry have not been around much, recovering from several operations. I did get out this week and do some detecting found this item near the swollen creek behind an old stone spring house. It is solid brass and had a latch or swivel type pin on the back which is missing. It reminds me of a "flaming bomb" insignia Artillery or engineers, ordinance. I don't thinks its Civil war period, the area is early 1900's. WWI? Malitia? Thank you in advance

I saw a couple of West Virginia logos that had mountain points like that. I don´t know, it is kind of primitive yet that looks like putty or glue on the back.

If the middle point was behind the other two points I'd say it was a crude representation of a tulip.

Just a guess but it looks like a trench art flaming bomb emblem. The flaming bomb emblem dates back to 1851 in US military history. The badge looks like it was lead filled and had a pin.

Thank you all for your responses, it remains unidentified. The coloration on the back is the remains of stuck to soil I didn't wish to clean it further until identified.

After looking further…in pic 3 or 4 (whole picture of the back) you can see 2 attachment points, which I’m guessing was (used to be) a steel pin/needle to affix to a collar/dress/garment etc. Going with a homemade (likely ladies) pin. It’s nice, and I appreciate the “rough” nature of its manufacture. Could well be a 1 of 1.
