Hello all,
Im from Southwest Europe and, like most of the world, having a lockdown period. Luckily im staying in my family farm wich is inside a closed private area, having 2500 hectars, so quite a lot of terrain to do my digging during isolation times.
Months ago just found in a remote area some unusual rocks and clay wich lead me to start to metal detect around, imediately I found lots of interesting artifacts.
Most of this objects I believe are from the periods of 15th to 19th century regarding the date in the coins I have found.
I believe that there was some kind of worshipping here, regarding the religious pieces around the +/-5 hectars area were all this is located.
What I would like to share is that today I found a gold object, well its actually two objects but attached to each other.
Would like to ask if it is some kind of buttons or ornament, regarding the simmilar silver ones with probably same nature and the big number of buttons and clothing material I find endlessly.
All the best
:tongue3:

Cufflinks, perhaps. Congrats! (Fantastic religious medals, by the way.)

Welcome to Tnet.

It's a cufflink. Nice one too. The pics are a bit blurry, but is there a mark at about 11 o'clock on the back of the piece shown on the left in your second picture?

I'd say yes to cufflinks also. The two silvered colored buttons on the bottom are called tombac buttons, due to the types of metal they are made of are are generally late 18th century. The big thing on the right is the heart to an 18th century shoe buckle.

Beautiful cufflinks! Congrats! I'm amazed by the gold religious pendants. I rarely get a silver one and it looks like you dig gold ones regulary. Must be the location... Good luck detecting the rest of your property!

Well the only gold piece is the last one from the topic. The medals are from bronze, I think.
Im curious if this was some sort of religious order living around here. Im getting all kind of religious pieces everywere, and clothing material.
Also a templars cross ring, an arabic ring, reconquista era coins. My theory is thaf this was a living area for the benedicts monks, regarding the names in the medals and the name of the property: "saint benedict"

If those 7 medals in the middle of the picture are bronze, you must have cleaned them chemically. No bronze I have seen coming from the soil has looked that bright!

Yes I cleaned most of them, they have a better look now. But I kept some of them in the original state too.
