looks like a late 1800s-turn of the century ladies broach or sash clip. Not military by any means, still very cool!

I initially got it for water hunting. However last year I decided to try it on land and was pleasently surprised. Like any machine it has its pros and cons, however it is in my opinion a top teir machine, up there with any other on the market. Easy to use, fantastic discrim mode, fast recovery speed, and solid depth. Like any machine, you have to learn how to use it and push it to the limits to maximize the depth and ability. Best machine for the $ out there, hands down. I switched to using the Pro and the Gold soley on land last year and have not been dissapointed.
