it is made of brass there is a eagle with breast shield and a star above the eagle it is 3 in tall 1 wide there is a hole at the bottom for water to drain ? thought maybe used as a scabbard tip or flag finial ? thank you

War of 1812 Hat Plume Holder

What you have is a War of 1812 Plume Holder! That is an excellent find. Most are found is pieces and it is rare to dig one complete. James
