Need help with ID

This looks like it might be a soup tureen, but I have never seen one with one handle. Any Ideas? The Japanese cup is also a mystery to me. I have actually dug up pieces of cups like this while metal detecting. Do you have a date for the two pieces? Thanks in advance.

With no apology for this being one of the earliest posts on the forum, I couldn't let this one go without comment.

I hope the OP hasn't been using it as a "soup tureen". It's a chamber pot... LOL! Also popularly known in Britain as a "gazunder" (because it 'gazunder' the bed).

That's a Minton mark on the bottom, with the pattern name 'Genevese' in script letters in the centre. Similar to this one from c.1910 (if it's smaller than the dimensions given then it's a "vomit pot" rather than a chamber pot):

The teacup is generic Japanese export ware for the Western market, circa 1950s.
