need help with some hallmarks....

hello i recently purchased a necklace and pendent and do not understand what these marks mean on the chain its says 925 so at first i though it was silver but on the reverse side of the mark it has a star then 620 ar anyone know what these markings mean? any help or info would be great thank you!

also i should mention that the chain is 20" long and is a 4mm curb chain and weights 15.4g

as far as I know, 925 is silver. Don't know about the other mark. You might want to post this in the "What is it?" section of this site. Lots of knowledgable folks in there.

The "ar" is probably the maker and the "620" is probably the model or design. "925" would mean that it is Sterling Silver.

620 could possibly be silver content,but nothing positive.I know some go down to 800.
