There's alot of these out there and if I'm not mistaken they were made for an extended period of time but all of them have the same date.

I appreciate all the feedback. I know these may not be that old, but I would like to get an idea. These are my neighbors coins that he picked up in the Middle East. One of the coins has the serated edges like mordern day coins, but it is off center. A clue maybe?????

The coin is called a Thaller,

The reason it was minted for so many years with the same date is because the population in wich it circulated was used to the silver in the 1780 version.
They are not coppies
when the date changed the population refused to use them.
So they were all minted each consecutive year with the same date.

The one to have is the 1781

There are only 4 or 5 known

Hi! I am new here but have been a treasuer hunter for many years. Yes your coin is a M.T. T. and there are many thousands of them around. I have a few myself. However you never know if your coin is new or old cause of the date. Good Luck! Jim
