Just got back from hitting a new area, and dug these two items.
The quarter is in decent shape, a 1876-CC, and the token is the first that I've found in a while.
Brass, and uni-faced, nothing on the reverse.
Can't find any info on a I. D. Crandall in Denver, except as a carpenter or a brakeman.
Tried the Token Database, a few Crandall's, no I. D.
Any help would be appreciated.
Carl

(First time I've ever multi-posted, but this one is driving me nuts.)

Mention of a Crandall in Cripple Creek, but it's a two person name.
Checked every Denver business directory from 1881-1915 that they have online at the library, got bupkis.

Not even a nibble?

You found the mystery token Carl !!! Kind of like my maverick Placer saloon token, never did find out where it is from ???

Ira Crandall, cigars, 1110 Larimer - 1893 Denver City Directory

All other listings I have found, he is listed as a brakeman or carpenter (as you also found)

Would you mind posting on the TokenCatalog site, or can I post?

1900 Census (Cripple Creek): Andrew Hendrickson, blacksmith
1902 Cripple Creek City Directory: A. Hendrickson, proprietor Placer Saloon

It the token you found the A. Schaffman Placer Saloon? That one I haven't found yet...

Posting images is always helpful:)

Well this post is a blast from the past!
Thanks a whole bunch, love the researching of a token, drives me nuts when I can't find anything out.
I have 1890, 91, 92, 94, etc., but not the 1893 Business directory, what are the odds that it was in the 1893?!
Rich, you are more than welcome to always post any of my token postings, I need to send off a bunch, either just too busy with
work, play, or procrastinating.
Thanks again,
Carl
