This was in Tennessee. Just seeing if anyone can id this thank you very much
 

Very little oxidation for old lead..but it happens.. especially in the water.
Looks like a rifled musket shot of some kind.

Thanks gator a friend of mine asked me to try and identfy it for him. I have some I found too.I will go through and get pics in.

The shape of the front has me wondering if it may be from a more modern muzzle loader.
This one is from Tennessee ..civil war.

Yea he found it in Tennessee. Ill ask on location
 

show a close up of nose and base for better potential ID. Civil war bullets in very wet area or in wood may not acquire a patina. Also if that bullet was made with more of a pewter alloy it won't get a patina like lead.

It is a Moly-coated modern black powder slug.
 

For reference, here is the same concept applied to the .308 cartridges I use in my National Match Springfield M1A.
