Depends on the model of sluice and your local conditions (components of the gravel, size and shape of material, etc.
Why do you care? If clean outs are needed and are a hassle, then you need a sluice that's really quick to clean out. (Le Trap, California Sluice, Angus Mackirk or my favorite: the Bazooka Goldtrap Prospector.
