Nemo hit a local beach hard and made finding these pretty easy.
Total of notable finds for this novice:
3 - Silver quarters
1 -1903 nickel
2 - Buffs
9 - Wheaties (not pictured)
1 -1942 1/2 dollar
8 - Silver dimes
1 - Horseshoe hoop earring (looks silver)
1 - Art deco ring (looks silver)
1 - Ring missing stone and broken (looks to be gold -10K is my guess) P&S- hallmark, I believe is Plainville Stock Company, Plainville, Mass. doing business from 1896 until about 1931.
1- Tepcorten's Mah Jong Doll tag
1- Lead toy artillery piece (don't know when to date it)
1- Betty Lou spoon (circa 1930's)
Used my AT-Pro and it worked great in the dry white sand. Didn't take me long in the wet sand or on beaches with more black sand to realize that I needed stronger beach detector. Excal II is ordered and I can't wait to swing it!
