Made it out to a site I pounded a year ago, brought a friend along for the hunt.

The site is a dot on the 1876 map and has given up a lot of silver coins and relics.

First signal was a Veeder cyclometer. This is an odometer made a hundred years ago as an odometer for bikes. Extremely well made to come out of the dirt like this.

A couple of wheats popped out and then roundness in the hole, big dandy button. Thought I had an old copper.

About 5' away the best signal of the day, about 6" deep, perfect high tone, small and not too strong. Dug the plug and green-ness popped out. Called Steve over.

Rubbed off some dirt to unveil a 1835 Largie, first LC from this site.

Another great signal sounded like a silver dime. Ended up being a random piece of silver (tested positive) maybe a bottle collar of some sort, no markings.

Broke my arm support towards the end of today's hunt. Will have a replacement printed by the time I wake up in the morning.

Gotta love it when your kids have useful toys!

Good luck out there!

His 3D printer is an Anet A8, only cost $120 from santa, but took about a day to install.

I’m gonna have to get me one. I’ve got so many things I’ve wanted to make but just haven’t had the equipment to do so. My ex’s brother in law used to make some really neat things for his kids with it.

And I still use a flip phone! Guess it's time to upgrade.

excellent job with the 250, I had the 250 a few years back, also had the DD coil. I found some pretty good stuff with it and so did my wife. congrats for sure

Thanks for the invite to hunt that site Thad. There are still a lot of good signals there, but also a lot of trash in the ground. We'll get in there with my sifter when it warms up.

Those lead soldiers are cool and that Large Cent is a sweet find. You seem to be an expert ACE250 user, you find a lot of nice stuff.

Thx MH! Glad to see you got out this am before the snow started and your Barber dime this morning is sweet.

Thx Dirtlooter. The DD coil gives so much more info in my opinion, really zoned in on its language. The epiphany moment for me is when I switched to Lithium batteries. On my detector the tones sound totally different with the lithiums. Much more info in the sounds. Have had to use back up alkaline batteries now and then and it is like losing a dimension (makes it like I am seeing or hearing the ground in 2d vs 3D). Not sure why, but they make a distinct difference in my finds.

Congrats on those finds Thad. That largie is a sweet find along with the big ole button.......and silver piece!

Excellent woods hunt
