All Treasure Hunting
Both found on the same very trashy property just south of downtown Raleigh.
I only found 1 clad quarter on the site.

The Token says Hardees Fun Machine Coin of which iv`e only been able to find plastic ones on-line.
Any ideas on a date?

The other is a printing plate? Very heavy like it contains lead.
I can read North Carolina at the top and at the bottom walton?
No clue what this could be any help on either item would be greatly appreciated.

I think some of the old Hardees had game machines that would dispense a small toy for a token. Tony

Thanks for your reply Tony still waiting for a pic of one.
I cleaned mine with water and a medium toothbrush and it now looks worse ::)

Lucas This is to heavy for just zinc.
I`m guessing its of a pewter composition.
Trying to photograph the back now.

Thanks for your reply`s guy`s.

Very cool.

Check out these newer tokens.
Yours is from the 70's I believe.
Very cool indeed.

Hardees started right down the road from here

Hold the printing plate up to a mirror to read it.

Or either take a clear close up of it 'as is,' and I can reverse the image. I can read about 15% of it now, but if we had a sharp pic, I think we can ID it. Breezie

I tried googling your lead printing plate when you first posted it but I couldnt find a match. Mirror is not necessary.

There is a city close to Raleigh named Wendell, which might be part of the name. I'm thinking it also could be 'Wondella.' The bottom name looks like WALTON RICE MILL.

Look at the 2nd time the product is mentioned. It looks like an 'r,' so it could be WONDERICE? Whatever the ICE letters are in the name, could be the ICE part of the company name. After looking at it, I don't think it sounds like a food product, but more like a cleaning product.

I think the word that is on the other side of the plate in front of 'makers' is home makers.

If we can figure out the word behind NO, then we'll know what product it could be. It looks like NO ploling or NO sloling.

I found quite a lot of references to Walton Rice Mills and Wonder Rice (WondeRice?). But most are AR, not NC.

I think its No pealing. :icon_scratch: What kind of food preparation would require pealing? Maybe its a paint additive. :dontknow:

Maybe its an advertisement to eat more rice and less potatoes. :tongue3:
