New creek site is startin' to give up some goodies

Found this site while looking for arrowheads. There's a heartpine bridge foundation crossing the creek where the old wagon trail crossed it. I walked up to the highest point around and started seeing glass. That's all the evidence I needed! I've had a Tejon for about 2 weeks now and love it. I would recommend it for anyone that is proficent with a fisher 1265-66x. It's set up about the same with the dual disc. modes. You can set the tone to the same one you are already using on your fisher. Best of all--it punches DEEP!

Hope ya'll enjoy

Newt, it looks like you have found a hotspot! Way to go. I recently added a Tejon to my Vaquero and Minelab Explorer II arsenal. The Tesoro units are a pleasure to hunt with.
Keep those post coming.

Re: New creek site is startin' to give up some goodies

in the old days folks hung around water spots (rivers & lakes) rivers were often used to transport items -- look for low flat spots along the river bank or "landing" areas--where goods were loaded and unloaded on flat bottomed barges also be on the look out for old dock pilings that will show where a old dock was that river boats might have docked at-- also on small rivers look for shallow crossing areas or fords as they were known -- in some places folks still use the old "names" for these areas -- like "scotts landing" or "kings ferry" -- two of the local areas in my neck of the woods --- these spots were often focal points with bussiness taking place and money changing hands there and goods being loaded and unloaded -- anywhere that happened in the past is a prime spot to look for lost relics and money -- Ivan

Looks like you're onto a great spot by the looks of the 1800's locks and IH. Congrats.
What year is the IH, and what are the other coins I see?
Thanks,

Good digs Newt. I have heard great things about your machine. I have an older Tesoro and really like it.

Nice finds Newt, sounds like a good site you have there, good luck. 3 nice locks, they should be easy to date. Question of the day seems to be what's the info on the coins?
