New Fisher Gold Bug Pro water detector ?

A lot of times these rumors get started for the heck of it as someone is bored and wants everyone to get excited.

Sandman.............I would have to say you are right on there...............

Tell you what, I may have never started any rumors on a water proof Gold Bug Pro, but I WANT ONE !

A waterproof Gold Bug or Super Lobo would be great but they need small coils to be affective for those tiny nuggets. Water detectors now are hardwired so you are not able to change coils. This makes them undesirable to most beach wading hunters because they can't cover the whole nine yards in one sweep. They forget that you need certain tools to do the job and they might need another detector. Wives don't like for us to buy too many detectors because it cuts down on the amount of shoes they can buy. :laughing7:

I think this started because Fisher just came out with a new
5 X 10 solid frame DD coil with a 6.5 foot cord for the
Gold Bug / G2
Why put a long cord on it with no water machine to go with it.
The GB would make a great fresh water machine.
Been thinking of getting a coil and a waterproof box and making it myself.

I would guess these coils are NOS "new old stock"

I don't think thy are NOS as thy just went into production and are hitting the dealers now.
The new GB/G2 frame looks a little rounder than the GB2 coil.
The guts wound not work with the big difference in Freq so
that leave the cord with a different connector on it.
If thy changed connectors thy might as well shorten the cord at the same time.

Would not be hard to convert a GB-Pro into an Aqua Bug.
It's just a matter of time.

I dont know. Is there really any big difference in a Gold Bug/gold detector compared to other detectors?
With the F series...Do you even need a gold detector?

Yes if you prospect for gold...... You sure want a gold detector.........

In any case, Garrett has marketed the AT GOLD now.
Once the competition starts marketing new products,
the other mfr.'s try to compete by putting out similar or other products that are a step up.
Conversely, if Garrett thought Fisher was going to market a new water-resistant gold detector
they may have put out the AT GOLD.
So who knows.

Of more interest is the fact White's has out their VX3 and V3i.
Wonder what that will make the competition come up with? ;D
