I drove up to N.Y. and hunted Lake Ontario. Beautiful water, beautiful day. I found two buttons and 7 musket balls

Nice finds
Thanks

Love the pewter US button. War of 1812 period.
I'm not thinking it is pewter, thanks

A good time with nice finds, cant go wrong. I am really liking that U.S. button.
Thanks, me too

Well it doesn't quite match the 1900s Bannerman copy. Would help to see the back.
The back is shown in post # 17 also shows how malleable it is in the two pix of a before and after of me bending it with my fingers. Thank you

Well done Brad! Looking forward to getting back up to Pa this fall....several untouched farm fields and homesites to hunt!

Great finds and beautiful place!

That's a beautiful 1812-20s pewter US button!

Thanks, all the pewter I have found in the dirt crumbles away to dust, I have to coat it with elmers glue. Do you think because it was under water its in the shape it is now?

Thanks

I've found saltwater peters that look the same way as that one. I always assumed they weren't malleable but then again I never tried! Lol.

I have that same style GS button but in the cuff variety. Yours looks coat sized

After texting you in camp I put the two buttons in my change tray in the car, when I got home the next day I noticed it had got bent, that was when I tried bending it back with my fingers discovering it was malleable. Thanks Steve

Nice way to cool off during the dog days of August.
