Over the week i secured a detecting permission of about 1400 acres of colonial farmland settled around 1775. Saturday was a scouting day and preparations were made to detect all day Sunday. Early Sunday morning we set out on our adventure. The first area i located 2 wheat cents. The first dates 1919, the second 1949. Then we switched to a small corn field, there i located a 2 piece button, and a best quality flat button. After some fumbling around we hit anouther large corn field. In this field i began pulling buttons starting with a half tombac, then my wife uncovers a very nice 1817 large cent, then 15 minutes later she gets anouther large cent signal, this time its something strange, a center holed, with the edge carved 1826 large cent. I found a few more buttons but my wife continues to kill it finding an intact cufflink. It was a great day out with the family and we were able to save some nice items.

I assume you're scanning the ground for evidence like broken glass, broken pieces of pottery and clam shells. Listen for those iron patches as well. That's where the good stuff is at. Congrats on those sweet finds!
