Greetings all, My name is Curt and I just purchased my 1st metal detector and Im looking for some advice on where to go searching. In Minnesota its apparently illegal to hunt state parks. Just curious how many people are from my area as well. Hope to hear from some of you soon. Happy hunting.

Welcome Aboard Curt! Take a look at Sub-Forums: Minnesota for information (i.e., clubs, etc.) directly related to your state.

Welcome from the Garden State

Welcome from NE Ohio.

welcome from Salinas, CA. As for the rule you found: Be aware that that's only for state parks. And has no bearing on city, county, fed, or private lands.

Hi Curt! I used to live in Duluth back in 98'. There are a lot of nice places to go in the area, though I know the lake shore is very rocky, but at Canal Park, and Minnesota Ave Park Point has some great spots. (If anyone questions you, tell them you are looking for your wedding ring) but, I think you are ok there.......

Better yet, tell them you are looking for your moms wedding ring!!!! LOL!!!

Really ? Your mom lost her wedding rings at various places? In my case, my dad lost a LOT of boyscout rings, when he was a kid, at various locations. Heck, we can't help it if our parents were fumble fingers clumsy, now can we ??
