New Site - Spanish Silver and Royal Artillery!

Tony and I got out to a new area and almost immediately got permission to a field with some potential. We spent the morning walking the entire field and were calling it a bust. Decided to head to another area and we're heading out when Tony hit on a Royal Artillery button, circa 1790s, so we decided to stay a little longer. Shortly after Tony found his I found a Royal Artillery button...and then another! Find of the day came next and I was more than stoked to see that in the clump! It's a 1765 Spanish silver 1 Real. My second Spanish this year! Tony got his silver with an 1858 Six Pence so he was happy as well. Looking forward to heading back.

Very nice finds. But isn't that a half real? The ones that just have an "R" are half and one reals are marked "1R" I believe.

Nope...its a 1 reale...larger than a dime. The "1" is opposite the "R" .

I did last Fall, and a Navy too! Ironhorse also got two. Waiting to hit that one again....as it's our new Artillery field and there has to be more.
