New to md'ing

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I got my new ACE250 yesterday and did a little md'ing around the house. The house was built in 1998, so I didn't expect to find too much. I found a nickel and a few pennies and two halves of aluminum cans. Not too bad for the first time, I guess.

I'll give the detector a real work out next week when I get a chance to go to my Grandma's house and her few acres of land. The house has been there since 1950 at least, so I hope to find a little something.

I just want to say that I love reading about everybody's finds and will post a pic if I find something worth while next week.

Welcome to TN from West Michigan. Have you planted a garden of coins and other stuff to see what the Ace tells you? Good luck.

Welcome aboard,theres always plenty of treasure to go around. The most important aspect is patience and persaverence. I cant count how many times I was about to give up for the day then I will make a good find. It starts out that you are after the coins but after awhile you learn that its the other things you find that are the most fun. With a new detector try and dig a lot of signals even after you have dug 50 pulltabs or bits of cans the next one can be a big fat honker ring,rings and jewlery always sound like total junk trash,HH...Shoot

Finally got to go to Gma's on Friday, but didn't have too long to hunt. Here is some pics of what I found. Nothing spectacular, but a decent first run.



The twisted wires were from a fence that separated the backyard from the frontyard. Neither he nor I could figure out what the bolt was, but it was the first thing I found.



I hope to get back out on the hunt sometime over the next few weeks, but work may take most of my free time.
