Hello All,

I am new here. I live in East TN. Been metal detecting for about 3 years now. I use a CTX 3030. I try to go as much as I can.

Last weekend I found a belt buckle. It looks to be Military but I am uncertain. Someone said it looked to be Civil War era. The house I was hunting was from the mid to late 1800s so this could be possible. Anyone have any idea if it actually is military and possibly from the civil war era?

Welcome to TreasureNet Mike.

I am no expert on buckles but it looks like a Federal Sword Belt Plate

Looks like this one.

Thank you. That does look like the one I found. The only difference in that one and the one I found is mine has the numbers 940 on the back of it. Not sure if that would make a difference or not.

Only thing I know is they had different numbers on the reverse.
