Sorry folks, I put a bad character in the title of my original post so it won't open.

Anyway. I opened my new toy yesterday afternoon and got it all set up the way I like it.

Took it out today to the nice tall weeds and played around for a bit. I did have a problem with it I think. The volume at one time went down to absolutely nothing. I had to turn it off and on a few times to get it to work again. However, my ears could have also been plugged. Going to see if it happens again tomorrow.

Found a gold cameo ring. Haven't found one of them in a very long time. Three brass rings and a brass religious medal. Three Washington's, Two mercs and a small silver part of a bracelet maybe? 5 wheats and a few other odds and ends were my finds today. I think this machine will really work great in the tall weeds.

I do. It has the 10.5" coil. I bought one with the 8" to play in the weeds with. The 10" toy was way too tiring!

I have the Tiger Shark with both the 10" and 8" coils also. I think I am set for any water hunting that I do now.

Way to go! Too bad it wasn't a 77 gram bracelet that was 14K... that would have paid for the equipment. LOL

I don't get em that big. However, I will pay for this machine in time. My 14 grand ring paid for a few machines.

I have patience, I will find another payday. Just don't know when

Looks like another very productive day Scuba. I bet you need a couple chests to hold all your spoils after a season.

That was a great hunt, the Cameo ring is really sweet.
Best of luck with the new CZ21
That's so coincidental, I was out today, for the first time with my new 10 inch Excalibur. So now I have an 8 inch coil and a 10 inch coil.

I have an E-Trac for land. Great machine. The MAIN reason I didn't go with an Excal is the noise. I am in 4 - 10' of water mainly. Boaters have NO idea what a dive flag is. I use silent search so hopefully I can hear a boat BEFORE I become propeller bait. Some have come within feet of my dives.

I have been side by side with an Excal and have had plenty of times to see it's abilities. I have never found a target it couldn't and it has never found a target I couldn't. I think both are great machines. I know my machine inside and out and so did he.

Another reason I like the CZ is it looks very professional hip mounted. I think the Excal is ugly!

I went with the Excalibur because it was recommended by a guy who has traveled the world for the sole purpose of water detecting . He certainly knows more than I do when it comes to combing the surf.
Since purchasing the first Excalibur, I started to hear about a terrible Minelab
"after sales service reputation "
After that first purchase of a Minelab, I have added an E-Trac, CTX 3O30, and a 2nd Excalibur to my arsenal. I purchased the 10 inch Excalibur because the 8 inch is no longer available. My 8 inch may have to go in for service. I'm hoping that the new Minelab service center located at KellyCo will do the right thing.
Be careful out there and try not to lose it when dealing with these clueless boaters.

It is supposed to be tight. I would recommend that you pick up a tube of White Lithium Grease. I use it on the wet suit and dive boots zippers prior to each water dunking. You will also need a small tube of silicone grease to coat the 3 "O" rings on the AT PRO. Your can get the silicone grease from any dive shop.
Good luck and be safe out there.
