Looks and sounds great, but is it water proof ? If so that would have a huge advantage over the rest.

Hmm, Yes! Seems like a close but not quite atta boy. Only Weatherproof and Not Waterproof, the pinpointer of course.

Get a VibraProbe if you need it to be waterPROOF. What happen to the middle picture of the sling? Looks kinda wimpy but maybe it works good? Anyone try one yet? At $19.95 it's cheaper than the Detecting Buddy.

Sure, anything is worth a try. It's a pretty simple system. It's just a matter of geometry and ease of use. I just realized that 63bkpkr's post has the sling shown......you just have the move the slide over to view it.
