Well the TD machine only took $100 halves at a time. I got one of the Tellers to help me dump my $580. He just left the machine open and put in a larger bag. However The machine still stopped every $100. It was more of a hassle but the teller was nice and he didn't mind. I think I'll be using TD to dump dimes and nickels only. Anyone know how much those bags hold?

my td bank bags fill up at the following amounts:
penny bags: $50(2 bags on the machine)
nickel bags: $100(1 bag on the machine)
dime bags: $500(1 or 2 bags on the machine, i can't remember)
quarter bags: $500(again, 1 or 2 bags on the machine, i can't remember)
Halves: $100(some banks will fill the big bag multiple times, others wont.
small dollars: $200.

it's a very strict policy, mine won't either, it kills me though because many times i can see the half dollar bag loaded with silver. I once saw the whole top of the bag filled with ben franklins when i was duping pennies, it killed me!

Buff, we've been in the same position. We will be checking the half bag when they open the machine to change the nickel or dime bags for us & we'll ask if we can switch out some of our halves for ones in the bag since it's the exact same denomination coin & we'll tell them we see some in the bag we need for our collection. Sometimes some of the tellers will let us & sometimes they won't. The last post I posted about having to walk away from silver was when we dumped at td & saw some silver halves...almost positive they were 90%ers....& they wouldn't let us trade. I was very sad.

i did get them to let me swap out 1 for 1 about 2 years ago where i scored 13 40% and a 1964, but that was a "one time" thing, but i know this machine takes silver because i've seenn the silver halves, nickels, and even a few silver dimes( i think, they are small and from the distance).

never seen silver in the bags, never. those machines spit silver like a baby eating broccoli! most of my finds come from the reject tray, aside from my half hunts.
