Newbie wanting info on GB2 and GB Pro DP

I want a Fisher MD and I want to hunt for gold, coins and jewelry. I'm in South West NM and also want to hunt rivers, streams and lakes. Would the Gold Bug Pro DP be my best choice?
Any information would be appreciated. Thank You
