it's been a long time... finds from this afternoon. i just looked at my post and i see that my pics are terrible- sorry. the one i am excited about but unsure as to what tpe of button it is, is the one that i took by itself. although you cannot see it weel, it has an eagle on the front hoding, i believe, 2 arrows in its left talon. the backmark reads 'robinsons, jones & co * V *'

Great Finds!
I've dug a couple Robinson 'A' buttons, Indian wars era. a little toothpick work will probably reveal a letter.
There's more where that came from! :icon_thumleft:

thanks for your replies! my dad is going to work on cleaning it up a bit for me. no letter to be seen as of now.wish i could get a close-up of the silver piece- we think it is Native American work.

small pics ... but great finds!

Nice early military button :icon_thumleft: is there a letter in the shield?
thanks for the reply- after cleaning (by my dad)- there appears to be an "I" in a shield. my 10 year old, whose eyes are better than mine, says it is definitely the letter "I"
