Nice pottery sherd found under rocks & a "maybe".......?

....found the sherd out behind & under one of my rock piles, don't think I posted it before & don't remember how it got there because it's so pretty!? And found a little piece of pretty rock that looks worked on? I also found a nice large (for us) obsidian arrowhead but not complete, need to take pics of it....

Rock looks like carnelian. We have found lots of carnelian when we travel to your part of the world. I do have one carnelian arrowhead I found near Deming.

Thanks you guys...yah the pic of the "carnelian" (thanks Jon ...you should post your arrowhead) isn't so great. I'm wondering what the eye on the sherd is of, if it is an eye that is!?

Nice sherd and it does look like it would of been a face. The swirl might be a ear piece. The rock looks like a flake to me.

Man-o-man I envy those pottery pieces you find- and show us . I need to get out west... last time I was riding around out there, I hadn't started this amazing hobby. The best I did was to pick up (way too much) rose quartz and agate in N. Dakota (and that's not even 'west'!-- although west of here). It's always such a treat to see the things you find!
